Who can apply? This call is open to consortia of businesses and academic institutions that wish to collaborate using a systemic approach. Projects should bring together as many relevant stakeholders as possible, including end users such as consumers, farmers, or any other users directly affected by the proposed product, technology, or concept.

Eligible themes? Your project must address one or more of our key focus areas:

  • Biomass Valorisation – transforming agri-food co-products into valuable resources, strengthening existing value chains, and creating new value-added activities.
  • Agriculture & Industry 4.0 – integrating digital technologies into agriculture and the agri-food industry.
  • Consom'Actors & Innovation – involving end users in the co-creation of healthy, sustainable food products and innovative solutions.

How to apply? Build your project consortium and prepare your application using the documents provided. Once your proposal is ready, submit it through our online platform by completing the application form and uploading the required documents.

Don't have a project team yet? Get in touch with us—we'll be happy to help you identify the right partners and bring together the expertise your project needs.

What happens next? Applications will be evaluated by the project committee based on their potential for systemic innovation, economic impact, and sustainability, as well as the quality of the consortium and the expertise represented within the project team.

Funding ? Selected projects will receive financial support from the Canton of Fribourg, consisting of two funding components:

  1. Project coordination funding: 100% of the project manager's coordination time is covered by the Canton, up to a maximum of 20% of the project's total budget.
  2. Project activity funding: Up to 70% of eligible project costs (excluding project management costs) is funded by the Canton.
  3. The remaining 30% must be contributed by the project partners (academic and industry partners). This contribution may be provided in cash, in kind, or through a combination of both.

The Canton's contribution can amount to up to CHF 150,000, excluding partner contributions.
