    At the same time, cheese dairies have significant energy demands, while practical decarbonization solutions suited to rural settings remain limited.

    The project aims to convert whey into biogas directly on site through an anaerobic digestion process tailored to the needs of cheese dairies.

    It helps reduce CO₂ emissions, improve the energy self-sufficiency of dairy operations, and unlock the value of a locally produced by-product within a circular economy.

    Résultats

    The analyses confirmed the high biomethane potential of whey, demonstrating its ability to produce biogas efficiently.

    These results provide a strong foundation for developing pilot installations and scaling up the technology for wider deployment.
