Consumer Testing: A Successful First Go-to-Market Experience
At Fribourg Agri&Food, our mission is to actively support the development of innovative products, services, and business models in the agri-food sector. But what does that look like in practice?
Recently, the Go-to-Market team conducted its first real-world consumer testing initiative. The concept was simple: give companies the opportunity to quickly validate new products, concepts, or business models with consumers in a real-life setting.
At the Cluster Food & Nutrition's year-end event, Aquaforum, Les Truites de la Gruyère, UNPACK, Notes de Fève, Lowimpact Food, and Spiruline Swissmade took part in this first Consumer Insights experience. With more than 100 attendees, the event provided an ideal opportunity to test their products and gather valuable feedback on consumer perceptions, preferences, and expectations.
To ensure meaningful results, each company was supported by a team of experts and provided with dedicated research tools. A tailored questionnaire was developed for every participant and made available via a QR code displayed at each stand. Visitors could discover the companies, sample their products, and share their feedback instantly, providing valuable insights to support further product development.
This first large-scale Go-to-market consumer testing initiative was a great success, demonstrating the value of leveraging events to validate new products and collect meaningful consumer insights that support innovation.
Building on this successful first experience, Fribourg Agri&Food aims to expand these opportunities, creating new synergies and helping even more agri-food innovators refine their products and accelerate their journey from idea to market.
