Launch of the Future Food Farming Innovation Booster
After supporting more than 45 disruptive ideas through the Swiss Food Ecosystems Innovation Booster, funded by Innosuisse, the Swiss Agro Food Leadinghouse association, jointly led by the Cluster Food & Nutrition and Swiss Food Research, is launching a new initiative: the Innovation Booster Future Food Farming.
This ambitious initiative is the result of an exceptional collaboration with two of Switzerland’s leading agri-food industry associations: the Swiss Farmers’ Union and the Federation of Swiss Food Industries. Its goal is to rethink our food system through a collaborative and inclusive approach. By bringing together stakeholders from across the entire value chain, this unique partnership will maximise the impact of the innovative projects it supports.
Consumers and end users will be placed at the heart of Future Food Farming through Living Labs designed to foster cooperation among all stakeholders. Fribourg Agri&Food is actively contributing to this initiative through the new Food & Farm Living Lab, which will involve consumers in the co-creation of innovative solutions. New ideas and prototypes will be developed and tested in real-life conditions, with the aim of improving the performance and sustainability of our food system.
To support innovation teams, more than CHF 1 million in total funding will be made available between 2024 and 2027. This funding will help bring to life the ideas emerging from the Living Labs and contribute to shaping a more resilient and sustainable agri-food future.
